What this site collects, who else receives it, and how to control both. Last updated 16 August 2026.
This privacy policy applies to calculateoutdoors.com. In this policy, "we" and "this site" refer to the operator of calculateoutdoors.com. Contact details are on the contact page.
This site does not require registration and does not operate user accounts. We do not ask for your name, address or payment details.
Calculator inputs. Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The values you enter — including latitude, longitude, body weight, age and skin type — are processed locally on your device. They are not transmitted to our servers, not stored, and not logged.
Location. The daylight calculator offers an optional button that requests your coordinates through your browser's geolocation API. This requires your explicit permission each time your browser is configured to ask. The coordinates populate a form field on your device and are not transmitted or retained. Declining the permission does not limit the calculator; you can type coordinates manually.
Contact messages. If you email us, we receive the content of your message and your email address, and we retain it only as long as needed to respond.
Standard server logs record IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages requested and timestamps. These are used for security and to understand aggregate traffic patterns.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. This site uses them in two categories.
Essential cookies support basic operation and security.
Advertising cookies are placed by Google and its partners, described below.
This site displays advertising served by Google AdSense.
Third-party vendors may also use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits, and we do not control the cookies set by these vendors.

You may grant, refuse or withdraw consent at any time through the cookie settings control in that banner. Where we process personal data, our lawful bases are consent (for advertising cookies), and legitimate interests (for security logging and site operation).
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing of identifiers with advertising partners for cross-context behavioural advertising may constitute "sharing" under the CCPA; you may opt out through the Google Ads Settings link above or by contacting us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Calculate Outdoors is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you follow an affiliate link, Amazon may set cookies and collect information under its own privacy policy, which governs that interaction.
This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Server logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes and then discarded. Email correspondence is retained only as long as needed to handle the matter it concerns.
This site is served over HTTPS. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
This site links to external websites, including related calculator sites and Amazon. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any site we link to, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Material changes to this policy will be posted here with an updated revision date at the top of the page.
