This site publishes general educational information and computational tools relating to outdoor environmental conditions. It does not provide medical, safety, navigational or professional advice, and nothing on it establishes a professional relationship of any kind.
Every calculator on this site implements a simplified model of a complex physical or physiological system. Output is an estimate, subject to the limitations stated on each calculator page, and must not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision affecting safety or health.
In particular, solar calculations do not account for terrain, cloud or obstruction; heat calculations assume shade and moderate exertion; vitamin D estimates cannot substitute for a serum measurement; and energy estimates exclude gradient, surface and carried load unless you apply the corrections yourself.
Outdoor activity carries inherent risk, including risk of serious injury and death. You are solely responsible for evaluating conditions, your own capability, and the decisions you make. Use of this site does not transfer any part of that responsibility.
